Gate of Creation
When Universidad de Monterrey (UdeM) in Monterrey México asked the famed architect Tadao Ando to design a building for for their department of Art and Design, he gave them "The Gate of Creation". I had the pleasure of writing this work commissioned by UdeM for the dedication ceremony. The music was designed to be perfectly synchronized to a video-mapping spectacle that was projected onto the impressive building.
The work was recorded at Abbey Road studios in London by the Philharmonia Orchestra in March 2013.

From Earth to Mars
In 1999, The Kennedy Center/Imagination Celebration of Fort Worth asked me to write a a symphonic work based on Mars and NASA's Space Exploration program. The work was created to embrace an educational project involving public schools across the county. The name of the project was The Mars Millennium Project and it was a White House initiative. The work was premiered in December of 2000 in Ed Landreth Auditorium in Fort Worth, TX. The work was first performed by the TCU Orchestra and Chorus and has ever since been used for regular and educational concerts, reaching thousands of children and just the first two years after its premiere performance.
The album is available through MovieScore Media.

El Rostro de la Luna
I consider this work one of my most personal to date. Contemplative in nature, the instrumentation still draws inspiration from my passion for film music, but the structure and narrative of the work are closer to a more personal musical meditation. El Rostro de la Luna was first performed in San Luis Potosí, Mexico with Orquesta Sinfónica de San Luis Potosí under my baton in November 2012

Carlota
First conceived as a ballet, this work is based loosely on the lives of Charlotte of Belgium and Maximilian of Habsburg. The piece has evolved through the years from a ballet to a symphonic diptych which dedicates its parts to each of the two characters. Carlota is a 'pas de deux d'amour' for full orchestra.
Carlota was premiered in June 2009 by Orquesta Sinfónica de la Universidad de Concepción conducted by maestro Julian Kuerti.

Mosaico Mexicano
Composed and orchestrated in 1999 this is my first symphonic work. Mosaico pays homage to the music of the great Mexican concert hall composers of the 40's and 50's as well as the composers of the golden era of Mexican cinema. I wrote this work while still in college and on the fourth year of living away from my country. A good cure against homesickness!
Mosaico Mexicano premiered in March 2000 in Ed Landreth Auditorium in Fort Worth, Texas, with the TCU Symphony Orchestra under my baton. Its profesional premiere took place in May later that year with the Dallas Symphony Orchestra conducted by maestro Germán Gutiérrez.

Desolación
I wrote "Desolación" in 1999. Scored for string orchestra and harp, this work was a sort of orchestration essay. This is the first work I wrote for a string ensemble. It's also an exploration of emotions; a musical meditation of sorts that foreshadows the more personal works I wrote in later years like El Rostro de la Luna and Saudade.
Although written in 1999, no recording of Desolación was available until the Summer of 2015. This audio track is the premiere recording. The Slovak Nation Symphony Orchestra under my baton.

Piano Sketch Book
Throughout the years I've kept a 'musical diary' of musical ideas and feelings. Some of these short sketches later developed into larger works, some of them stayed in a short sketch piano format. Here is a collection of some of these piano sketches from 1993 to the present.
